Where Have I Been? (Update, sale, classes)

So much has changed since I last reached out to you. 

My partner of 38 years, Kathy Henry, passed in February after a 17-month battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Our boys and I are heartbroken, and yet we feel her with us all the time. We are finding new rhythms in our lives together, and I've been surprised by how often our tears of grief can change to smiles and laughter.

This year holds many difficult "firsts" as we adjust to Kathy's physical absence. It's also brought an outpouring of wonderful, supportive messages of kindness and prayer from so many of you. Thank you for reaching out in love. Saying thank you doesn't adequately express my love and gratitude for your presence on this path. I often say this is how the good people take over the world. We support and love each other through difficult times, and that generates Light. 

Whatever you are going through right now ... good times, sad times, lean times, abundant times ... please remember that you are not alone. May you find peace and support in knowing that you are dearly loved. I see your Light.

Light in the Darkness

In October, my wife Kathy was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. When we got the news … it felt like all the lights went out. 

Kathy is now going through treatment, and we are glad to have a team of allopathic and naturopathic oncologists guiding her path. So many of you have sent healing energy and notes of encouragement. Thank you! 

What happens at the end of the longest night? An infusion of Light. That Light is created as we hold space for each other, and as we hold each other close.

Is It Too Late? 2/6/22

A lot of people ask me if it's "too late" for them. Whether they are talking about changing jobs, finding love, pursuing something they're curious about, reinventing themselves in some way ... my answer is almost always "No." 

It's not too late. With every breath you take, you may choose to continue in the old way or take a new path. That's true whether you are 6 years old or 106 years old. 

The losses and sorrows we move through, the setbacks and obstacles we experience, aren't enough to stop us unless that is our choice. In my own life, I've found myself in a place where I am consciously choosing to make some big positive changes ... and I couldn't make those changes without the benefit of the extremely difficult experiences of the last year.

My prayer for you is that you consider all the ways in which it may not be "too late" for you. What sparks your curiosity? What brings you joy? Take a small step toward that today. In Between: 12/1/21

This is the time of year where things seem to be speeding up and slowing down at the same time. As we rush headlong into the holidays, there’s an equally potent invitation to drop into quiet and introspection as we look at the year just past and the year ahead. 

That in-between space is where intuition and creativity can flourish … if we will allow ourselves the gift of space and time to listen and experiment.

Gracious Return: 10/4/21

I'm so happy to be back from leave! Starting this week, I'm resuming my "normal" schedule of podcasts, classes, and client sessions. 

My second hip surgery went wonderfully well and I'm healing beautifully. During my time away, I struggled with my tendency to make a lot of goals and create a lot of busyness for myself. And as the weeks went on, I learned to let that slide and allow a bit more graciousness ... a bit more space for healing and just being held in Divine Light.

From the Other Hip: 7/30/21

If we are manifestations of Divine Love in the world (and I believe we are), why are we so stingy about letting ourselves receive that love? Why can it be so difficult to treat our healing selves with compassion?

My prayer for you is that when you find yourself out of alignment with compassion, you find a moment to breathe and to reconnect with that always-on flow of Divine Love. You are worth it, and it belongs to you.

From the Hip: 5/3/21

When a plot twist like this happens, it challenges me to go deeper into my spiritual practice ... to look for the Divine in every moment, to slow things down to the tiniest possible increments so I can be fully present, and to practice compassion for myself just as I would with someone else.
